accounts preparation
We cover all aspects of accountancy for our clients, most of whom are in the music business and other areas of entertainment, including sport. The extent of our work is tailored to the needs of a client, and this can vary considerably.
For instance, we carry out the following for our music clients in particular:
- negotiating UK taxes on UK performance with the Foreign Entertainers Unit (FEU) of HM Revenue and Customs on behalf of overseas artists
- liaising with booking agent, overseas promoters and tour management and advising upon the structure of tour performance contracts
- advising upon overseas withholding tax issues for both UK and overseas musicians
- advising upon and liaising with overseas neighbouring right collection societies, PPL and agents to ensure correct track registrations and performer royalties
- advising upon and liaising with PRS and overseas societies to ensure correct registrations and composer royalties
- advising upon and liaising with MCPS
- reporting to the record labels tour shortfalls and securing reimbursement
We deal with all major record and publishing labels, booking agents, production companies and neighbouring rights agents allowing us to be able to advise extensively beyond the boundaries you would normally associate with accountants.
